Akanksha tried to turn Yogesh into her K-drama hero for Netflix. We rewatched the whole reel, scene by scene.
Yaar, Netflix finally answered the question the whole fandom keeps asking about these two. The answer is K-dramas.
On 14 October, Akanksha posted a reel on her Instagram made with Netflix India and Yogesh, part of Netflix celebrating 10 years of K-dramas in India. Five days later it was sitting at 8.7 lakh likes and 1.75 lakh shares. If you have watched it on loop like the rest of us, this one is for you: every scene, the two lines we cannot stop quoting, and the one thing nobody is talking about.
Previously on Yoganksha
Quick recap for anyone new here. Yoganksha (or Yogansha, depending on which fan page you follow) made headlines together on MTV Splitsvilla X6. This summer they were locked up together again on Lock Upp 2, which streamed on Netflix. So when Netflix needed two faces for its K-drama anniversary, it did not have to look very far.
This episode, scene by scene
- 0:00The cold open. Akanksha in pink striped pyjamas, sobbing into a tissue over a K-drama. Every K-paglu has lived this exact night.
- 0:03Flowers at the door. Yogesh walks in with a bunch of white flowers, brown jacket over a cream turtleneck. Already more K-drama hero than most of the men in our lives.
- 0:09The café date. She is in a pink hanbok top, photographing her food before taking a single bite. Relatable. He sits next to her in a navy hanbok, looking like someone who was dragged there. He was.
- 0:17The line. Then the colour drains out of the frame, everything except Yogesh, who turns to the camera and says it.
Yogesh Aap sabko jaanna tha na, Akanksha aur mere beech mein kya hai? K-dramas.
0:17
Netflix took the fandom’s biggest question and made it the punchline. More on that in a minute.
- 0:25The barber chair. Our K-paglu books him a makeover and shows the barber the When Life Gives You Tangerines poster on her phone as the reference cut. Yogesh is not having it. Spoiler: the curls survive.
- 0:35Couple outfits. Matching striped tees, the oldest trick in the K-drama book. He asks her to order something to eat, and the menu, as always, is ramen. Cheese ramen, kimchi ramen, ramen every day. Bechara.
- 0:45The surprise. He covers her eyes from behind and brings out a cupcake with a lit candle. She makes a wish. Textbook.
- 0:52The montage. The song kicks in. Blushing close ups, and then she falls asleep on the sofa while he tucks a blanket over her and gently pats her head. If you did not scream at the blanket, please check your pulse.
- 1:15The confession. Yogesh, grinning straight into the camera.
Yogesh Aur haan, ab main bhi K-paglu ban chuka.
1:15
Mission accomplished, Akku.
- 1:25Binge mode. The two of them curled up under fairy lights for the next episode, as the screen reads “Har K-Paglu ka fix, on Netflix”.
- 1:29The twist. And then Yogesh, in a camel coat and a red turtleneck, on the phone, asking how he can become a rich billionaire CEO. Because once you are a K-paglu, you know exactly who the male lead always is.
Why Netflix cast them
Here is the part nobody wrote. This was not a random creator collab. Lock Upp was Netflix’s own show, and a big one: Deadline reported it pulled 50 million viewing hours in a month, and Netflix has already renewed it. So for its K-drama anniversary, Netflix picked two of its own reality stars, one of the most shipped pairs on the internet, and opened the reel with a line that answers the question everyone asks about them without answering it at all.
That is not an accident. That is a fandom big enough that a streaming giant wants in. Akku Sena, Yoganksha nation, take a bow.
In her words
Akanksha has never hidden being a K-drama paglu. Around the launch she said K-dramas shaped her boyfriend standards, and that her type is sporty, confident, charming and sweet: basically “a Hong Du-sik from Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha… is that too much to ask?”
For the uninitiated, Hong Du-sik is the charming jack of all trades of a seaside village in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. Make of that what you will. We are only reporting.
Tropes spotted
Episode 1 trope bingo. Nine squares, and the reel ticked every single one.

- Crying at the screen (0:00)
- Flowers at the door (0:03)
